Hennessey has kicked off production and customer deliveries of its Ford Bronco Raptor-based VelociRaptor 500.

The tuning company first unveiled its heavily-modified version of the Bronco last year and since then, has been testing it to ensure it can withstand anything that owners can throw at it. It recently underwent cold weather testing through the mountains of Colorado. This testing regime didn’t just allow Hennessey’s engineers to see how the VelociRaptor 500 performs in the snow but they were also able to monitor its performance at high altitudes.

“The VelociRaptor 500 Bronco is one of our most agile and capable off-road offerings — it’s nearly unstoppable off the pavement,” John Hennessey said. “Our 500 horsepower upgrade pairs perfectly with Ford’s rugged Bronco Raptor 4×4 as we improve upon the factory’s high-performance offering and enhance it with more power and a more aggressive appearance.”

Hennessey’s Ford Bronco VelociRaptor Is Coming To An Off-Road Trail Near You

Hennessey’s ultimate version of the Ford Bronco uses the Raptor’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 but various changes have been made to it. For example, it is equipped with a new high-capacity intercooler and a proprietary engine management system, resulting in 500 hp and 550 lb-ft (745 Nm) of torque. This gives the VelociRaptor 500 more grunt than even the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 with its 470 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm).

Various other modifications have been made to the Ford. These include distinctive new bumpers, LED off-road lights, Hennessey’s own 10-spoke alloy wheels, and special VelociRaptor 500 Bronco badging. Rounding out the upgrades are embroidered headrests, all-weather floor mats, and a unique build number plaque.

Hennessey offers its VelociRaptor 500 package from $28,950, not including the price of the Bronco Raptor itself. Each upgrade package comes with a 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty.
