American custom builder Icon is celebrating its 100th completed vehicle with a special one-off creation based on the New School Edition and equipped with a 5.0-liter Coyote V8, a four-speed automatic, and Brembo brakes. Here are all the details about the unique creation and how Icon has set itself apart over the years.
The brand actually started back in the mid-2000s but it wasn’t until the early 2010s that it cranked out its first Bronco restomod. Now, just over a decade later, it’s built 100, and fittingly, the latest is called the ICON Bronco 100. What was originally a 1974 Bronco with a six-cylinder engine now carries a complete complement of modern parts.
The company used its New School design package as the basis for the Bronco 100. As its name suggests, it puts a modernized spin on the classic SUV with updated graphics and trim. It also gets a bevy of machined parts, a unique gauge cluster, and MIG Jet dash lighting.

To hear Icon’s founder talk about it, the Bronco 100 is clearly close to his heart. “The ICON Bronco 100 is a unique blending of new and old, a balance between safety and refinement with capability while presenting an analog responsibility for the driver. If you want to have an authentic, real driving experience, new vehicles just don’t offer the same feeling. The Icon Bronco 100 allows drivers to be in control. That’s a rare, beautiful feeling.”
On top of the industrial design elements and the modernized exterior, the Bronco 100 also features major performance upgrades akin to any good restomod. That includes Eibach coil springs, FOX racing shocks, and a stainless steel exhaust system. The interior is up to the same level of quality too.
Icon worked with upholstery provider Spinneybeck to include a tough leather that provides all of the joy associated with the material but that requires far less maintenance. It also integrates a new silicon material that mimics fabric for a classic but easy-to-clean finish. That commitment to advancement in the restomod space is part of what sets ICON apart. After all of these years, it doesn’t expect demand to slow anytime soon.
“It’s pretty incredible to think about how far we’ve come over the last 100 Bronco builds. Passion for the Bronco has not waned in the slightest, and ICON takes great pride in the challenge presented by constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with each project for our clients,” said Ward.
