The 2023 Milan Design Week, held between April 17 and 23, might not be all about cars, but it is a nice excuse for Italian automakers to showcase their goods. In that context, Maserati announced two one-off specials based on the new GranTurismo, highlighting the countless personalization options of the dedicated Maserati Fuoriserie Programme, alongside a digital-only one-off by artist Hiroshi Fujiwara.
The first special model is called Maserati GranTurismo Prisma and features no less than 14 different colors on its exterior. Two of them are new, and the other twelve are taken from the color palette of GranTurismo’s predecessors. For example, the reddish Amaranto was used in the 1947 Maserati A6 1.500, and the copperish Oro Longchamps comes from the 1973 Maserati Khamsin.
The colors are not arranged in different body panels like in the Volkswagen Polo Harlequin, but merge with gradients which feature a total of 8,500 hand-applied letters making up the names of Maserati cars. In terms of powertrain, the Prisma is based on the Trofeo variant which means it gets the twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 with 550 hp (410 kW / 557 PS).

The second one-off is the Maserati GranTurismo Luce, likely the shiniest model in the 2023 Milan Design Week thanks to its highly reflective livery. The company calls it a “chromatic mirrored monolith” engraved with “laser-etched patterns” which are highlighted in the profile teaser shot. The “almost absent color” makes it blend into its surroundings. This means that in the live shots from the event, the car will probably give us an idea of the backstage. Inside, everything is upholstered in Econyl, a sustainable “regenerated nylon yarn” with laser processing inspired by the fashion industry. As given away by the tri-spoke alloy wheels and the Folgore badges, the Luce has a zero-emission powertrain, with a trio of electric motors producing a combined 751 hp (560 kW / 761 PS), and a 92.5 kWh battery pack.
Besides the two aforementioned one-off specials which will be showcased as real-life models, there will also be a digital GranTurismo one-off created by Japanese artist Hiroshi Fujiwara who is described as a “pioneer of streetwear” and a fan of the Trident brand. Maserati didn’t provide more details on this one, other than it will be exhibited alongside Fujiwara’s bespoke capsule collection.
Last but not least, Maserati will also bring the limited-production GranTurismo Launch Edition PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary at the 2023 Milan Design Week. This one will be produced in 300 units, equally divided between the Grigio Lamiera and Nero Cometa colors and the combustion / fully electric powertrain options of the model.
The Maserati GranTurismo lineup will be exhibited at its Milan store on April 19 for special guests and on April 20 for everyone else.
