Last week, during the “Tucked” car event at the British Motor Museum, cameras captured instances of reckless driving that put pedestrians and other road users at risk. One particularly concerning incident occurred when a BMW crashed into a traffic light while exiting the show, hitting multiple bystanders. As seen in the video, the driver was attempting a powerslide that ultimately failed, leading to the collision.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, April 2, was captured on film from various angles, as many automotive enthusiasts had gathered for the occasion. Unfortunately, many of the drivers of the modified vehicles that participated in the event drove recklessly on public roads. Some could be seen launching their cars at the traffic light, drifting, and even doing donuts in the middle of the street. However, it was the driver of the mirror-wrapped BMW 5-Series who caused the accident.

The footage shows the BMW plowing into at least 4-5 people before coming to a stop at the traffic light pole. The pedestrians didn’t have enough time to react as they were sitting on a narrow pavement. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident, as reported by an onsite paramedic from the British Motor Museum who attended the scene. It’s miraculous that everyone escaped with minor injuries considering the severity of the crash.

The Warwickshire Police Department issued the following statement: “At 3.56pm yesterday, April 2, police were called to a report of a vehicle hitting pedestrians on Banbury Road. Officers arrived and ascertained that, while leaving an event for modified cars, a BMW 5-Series collided with several pedestrians and damaged a traffic light before being driven off”.

The BMW 5-Series, which sustained severe damage to the front, can be seen reversing and driving away slowly on the left side of the road. According to a report by Daily Mail, Sergeant Leanne Mason confirmed that the car was located down the road and seized, and the male driver has been identified and is currently under investigation. The Sergeant also emphasized that this incident could have been much more serious, stating that the authorities “will not tolerate this sort of behavior.”

The British Motor Museum wrote on Twitter: “We are aware of an incident that took place on the B4100 today. We take issues of road safety very seriously and whilst we won’t be commenting further at this time, we will investigate and act accordingly”.
