April 1 fell on a Saturday this year, which meant that the April Fools’ Day press releases were pretty light this year. That’s not to say that nobody wanted to participate in the fun, though.

Honda, BMW, and VW all tried their hands at a little humor this year, but Subaru was the brand that tried to do it all. The Japanese automaker released not one, not two, but of what we know, at least three April Fools’ Day gags this year.

Subaru of America was the first one out of the gate this year, with a press release about granola that it released on Friday, a day before April started. The product was intended to poke fun at Subaru drivers’ reputation for being hike-loving nature fans.

Moving on, Volkswagen tried its hand at participating in April Fools after its calamitous Voltswagen stunt from 2021, with a fake product that actually sounds really cool. Volkswagen posted about nail polish colors that supposedly match the colors of its cars, which I think people would actually do, if given the opportunity.
