A couple of years ago, a talented designer by the name of Jordan Rubinstein-Towler published a series of renderings of how he wanted the revived Acura Integra to look. While the eventual new Integra looked nothing like the designer had imagined, his creation remains one of the most spectacular takes we’ve seen of a modernized JDM classic. Now he’s back, releasing renderings of a revised take on his Integra.
These renderings imagine a new-age Integra Type R that takes design inspiration from arguably the greatest Integra of them all, the DC2 generation. However, Rubinstein-Towler hasn’t simply copied the design of the DC2 and has instead taken inspiration from it and updated it. Were Acura, or Honda for that matter, to build a front-wheel drive sports car that looked like this, we’re sure it would sell like hotcakes.

The good looks start at the front end where some alterations have been made over the initial concept from 2021. For example, the headlights a little larger and much more aggressive thanks in part to the sharp LED DRLs incorporated within them. The car then features large cut-outs that extend from the corners of the headlights down to the base of the bumper.
Elsewhere, the car can be seen rocking a massive front grille finished in black. Like the DC2 and DC5 generations of the Integra, this new model is a two-door, resulting in a far more attractive shape than the current model.
We think the rear of Rubenstein-Towler’s Acura Integra Type R is its finest angle thanks to the towering rear wing similar to the FK8 Civic Type R, the slim and purposeful LED taillights, and the blacked-out bumper and diffuser.
While it is a shame that the new Integra doesn’t look like this, the new 2024 Integra Type S has a lot going for it thanks to the use of the same powertrain as the Civic Type R as well as an exterior design that we think is more appealing than the FL5 Civic Type R.
