There’s nothing quite like a high-performance sports car from Japan and of all the memorable models produced over the decades, few can match the appeal of the R34-generation Nissan Skyline.
The Skyline first came to fruition way back in 1957 and became especially appealing in R32, R33, and R34 generations, ultimately becoming a cultural icon thanks to films like 2 Fast 2 Furious. Making the R34 all the more desirable in the United States is the fact that it won’t become easy to import until the expiration of the 25-year rule next year.
This particular R34 Skyline is a V-Spec II variant and is a 2000 model. We’re not sure how it has been imported into the United States but it could be under a ‘show or display’ exemption that limits how many miles it can be driven each year. Regardless, it is seriously cool and made all the more impressive thanks to the eye-catching set of Strasse Wheels it is rocking.

Dubbed the R10 Competition Series, these wheels measure 19×11 at all four corners and have a gloss black center finish and then a carbon fiber lip finish. We’re not always fond of wheels that incorporate carbon fiber into their design but think it works very well in this case.
Over a dozen variations of the Nissan Skyline R34 were built throughout its production. The V-Spec is one of the more common but is also one of the most well-rounded, benefiting from most of the same performance components as the standard model but adding some extra pieces of aero, brake ventilation ducts, a rear diffuser, and a limited-slip differential. V-Spec II models like this one also came standard with a carbon fiber hood complete with a small NACA duct.
