Hundreds of new VinFast VF 8 SUVs are on their way to the United States after the Vietnamese car manufacturer sent its second batch of VF 8s over to North America.
In total, 1,098 examples of the VF 8 are heading to the United States while a further 781 are bound for Canada. Those onboard will be delivered to U.S. customers throughout June while Canadian customers will pick up the keys to their new SUV in June. Customers in Europe will have to wait a little longer as the first batch is tipped to be exported in mid-July.

The VF 8 models heading to North America are Eco and Plus variants and will launch after the City Edition version first touched down in the U.S. in March. VinFast says the Eco and Plus models offer more range than the City Edition, which claims a dismal 207 miles (333 km) on a full charge. An official EPA range figure has not yet been announced for the two new versions.
What we do know is that the VF 8 Eco is powered by the same electric dual-motor, all-wheel drive system as the City Edition, producing 349 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm), and allowing it to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.5 seconds. Customers who want some extra power would be wise to opt for the VF 8 Plus as it delivers 402 hp and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque.
Additionally, the VF 8 Plus comes standard with an Advanced Driver Assistance System that includes highway assist, auto lane changing assist, fully-automated parking assistance, smart summon mode, and remote parking. Both variants also include a Smart Services function that includes a virtual assistant and remote controls available through the VinFast smartphone application.
VinFast has not yet confirmed pricing details for the standard VF 8 Eco and Plus models but they should be similar to the City Edition. That means that the VF 8 Eco will cost around $49,000 while the VF 8 Plus should be available for approximately $56,000.
