The C8 Corvette Z06 is an incredibly impressive vehicle, offering supercar-level performance for a fraction of the price. But now the car has earned yet another notch in its belt, with one reportedly setting the record for the fastest stock Corvette from the C8 generation according to CorvSport.
A YouTube video from 377ndacut shows the Torch Red Z06 at a drag strip, where it was outfitted with no mechanical modifications, bar a set of drag wheels and tires. The car did a quick burnout to warm up the tires, after which it was time for its first run.

The Corvette rocketed away, its flat-plane crank V8 wailing in the background, and it was able to achieve an initial time of 10.11 seconds at 134 mph (216 km/h). Attempting again, the Corvette did another burnout, then launched itself off the starting line. This time, the result was a bit more favorable, clocking in at 9.98 seconds at a speed of 135.50 mph (218.06 km/h). For reference, that’s a third of a second quicker than a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and nearly a full second quicker than the current Porsche 911 GT3, and it’s what officially earned it the title of the fastest stock C8 Corvette.
You could argue that the drag tires and skinny front wheels technically preclude this car from being stock, but the engine had no modifications whatsoever. Additionally, in an earlier video, the car made a record attempt with the stock wheel and tire package, and it still managed to clock an impressive 10.26-second time at 134.31 mph (216.15 km/h), which is quicker than a Ferrari F8 Tributo.
