Spring is in the air and it appears BMW couldn’t wait to bring the facelifted M4 Convertible out to play.

Spied undergoing testing in Germany, the drop top appears primed for a light refreshening that focuses on the front and rear ends. The former is heavily disguised, but we can see a new front bumper and a more pronounced splitter that echoes the one on the M4 CSL. They’re joined by new headlights that are similar to those found on the facelifted 3-Series.

The minor updates continue out back as we can see new taillights that resemble those found on the M4 CSL. While the bumper appears to carryover, it’s possible it could be changed for production.

Spy photographers didn’t get a good look inside, but we shouldn’t expect radical changes as the model was recently outfitted with a Curved Display that consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment system. That being said, the infotainment system could be upgraded to the latest operating system while the center console could be revamped.

Under the hood, we can expect to find a familiar twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. While the current M4 Competition xDrive Convertible has 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS) and 479 lb-ft (508 Nm) of torque, rumors have suggested the output could climb to around 518 hp (386 kW / 525 PS). Regardless of what happens, the current model can accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed of up to 174 mph (280 km).

The facelifted BMW M4 Convertible could be introduced early next year and we can expect to learn more about it in the coming months.
