Abarth announced the full lineup of the electric pocket rocket which includes the 500e and the 500e Turismo trims, available in three-door hatchback and cabrio bodystyles with the same powertrain. The new range comes after all of the 1,949 units of the Scorpionissima launch edition were sold out, representing the EV successor of the ICE-powered 595 that is set to be discontinued by the end of 2023.

Starting with the entry-level Abarth 500e, the aggressive bodykit that is specific to the performance-focused brand is complemented by a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. A yellow Scorpion logo can be found on the hubcaps and on the bodywork. The bumper inserts are finished in white, the Abarth lettering in dark titanium Grey, and the mirror caps in Matte Gray.

The dark-themed interior has colorful touches on the sports seats with blue stripes embossed on the fabric and blue/yellow stitching, while the flat-bottom steering is wrapped in black vinyl. In terms of technology, the 7-inch digital instrument cluster and the 10.25-inch infotainment screen with Abart-specific “Performance Pages” and Uconnect Services are standard features.

The flagship Abarth 500e Turismo is distinguished by the 18-inch alloy wheels featuring a diamond-cut titanium grey finish. Just like the entry-level model, the Turismo is available in five exterior colors – Antidote White, Venom Black, Adrenaline Red, Acid Green, and Poison Blue.

Inside, the Turismo gets premium Alcantara upholstery on the seats, steering wheel, and dashboard. The bucket seats with integrated headrests feature double stitching and an Acid Green Scorpion badge laser-etched on the Alcantara. Equipment includes heated seats, a wireless charging pad, a rear-view camera, blind-spot warning, and the JBL Premium Audio system with seven speakers and a 320-watt 8-channel amplifier.

The EV also comes standard with the “Abarth Soung Generator” which replicates the sound of the Record Monza exhaust in the ICE-powered 595/695 range. Note that this is additional to the “strumming guitar sound” that the Abarth 500e makes when it gets over 20 km/h (12 mph) for the first time.

All variants of the Abarth 500e come fitted with the same zero-emission powertrain. A single electric motor produces 153 hp (113,7 kW / 155 PS) and 235 Nm (173 lb-ft) of torque, allowing a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in 7 seconds. The automaker claims that the electric hot hatch is quicker and sharper than the ICE-powered 595. The driver has access to a trio of driving modes – Turismo, Scorpion Street, and Scorpion Track. Finally, the 42 kWh battery is good for an electric range of up to 265 km (165 miles). The EV is compatible with 85 kW fast charging, replenishing 80% of the battery juice in 35 minutes when connected to the right charger.

The Abarth 500e range is already available to order. In its home market in Italy, the entry-level 500e is priced from €37,950 ($41,830), while the flagship 500e Turismo starts from €42,650 ($47,020).
