Scottish EV-maker Munro Vehicles announced the expansion of its lineup with the addition of the MK_1 Pickup following the MK_1 SUV which debuted in production form in December 2022. The electric model benefits from the added practicality of a rear bed while retaining the off-road-focused nature and brick-shaped styling of its SUV twin.
The Munro MK_1 range was designed, engineered, and manufactured in Britain as a zero-emission vehicle for the mining, construction, utilities, agriculture, and defense sectors. The company promises as much as 50 years of service for both of its models, given that owners will follow “routine maintenance and planned refurbishment”.

Predictably, the MK_1 Pickup shares its galvanized steel ladder chassis and fully electric powertrain with the SUV. The same applies to the flat-shaped bodywork with the exception of the upper portion of the tail which is gone, leaving the cargo area exposed.
As with the Munro MK_1, the 4×4 pickup truck comes fitted with a single electric motor producing up to 375 hp (280 kW / 381 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. Despite having the aerodynamics of a brick, the 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) sprint is completed in 4.9 seconds. The 82 kWh battery pack is good for a range of over 190 miles (306 km), allowing up to 16 hours of off-road operation between charges. Speaking of which, the battery can go from 15% to 80% in 36 minutes when plugged into a 100kW DC charger.
The Munro MK_1 Pickup is already available to order in the UK priced from £49,995 ($62,172) before taxes which is identical to the SUV. The company has already secured more than 200 orders which covers the next 1.5 years of production. The first deliveries are expected later in 2023, with Munro looking for bigger premises to expand its production output.
