The penultimate installment in the Fast & Furious franchise is finally approaching, but we still have to wait a few weeks before the adrenaline can go pumping through our injector ports and straight into our hearts. To tide us over until then, the production has revealed its latest promotion for “Fast X.”
No, this isn’t another teaser full of growling men who are wide as they are tall, it’s a charming little 8-bit video game. A simple game that can run on your browser, Fast X: The End of the Road Begins sees players racing up a street, avoiding obstacles.
The gameplay involves you dodging cars, explosives, and the greatest of all dangers to street racers: potholes. Players can also pick up checkered flags, NOS bottles, and cash to speed their progress, as they race towards the finish line.

Although the gameplay is simple, each map is connected to a scene or set piece from the franchise. For instance, you get to race Letty’s motorcycle, Dom and Dante’s car, and others through the streets of Brazil, Los Angeles, and Rome.
Between levels, scenes ripped straight from the trailers that we have already seen play, to remind you of the action you are waiting to see when “Fast X” is finally released in theaters.
The movie premieres on May 19, and is the second-to-last installment in the central Fast & Furious franchise. Although no more “Fast” movies are expected after the 11th film, the production has made it clear that the franchise will live on in standalone films that focus on individual characters, such as the recent “Fat & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.”
In to Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez (who play Dom and Letty), “Fast X” will also star Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Sun Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jason Statham, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Brie Larson, Rita Moreno, among others, but not Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
