Getting parts for your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado is as easy as going to your nearest AutoZone, but things are decidedly more complicated when you own a classic Aston Martin.
Finding parts can be an expensive and time consuming endeavor, but thankfully Aston Martin Works is coming to the rescue by putting some classic components back into production for the first time in decades.
As part of the effort, the company worked with suppliers to create “entirely new engine blocks, cylinder heads, gearboxes and other major components” that are built to original specifications. These parts are now available for the DB4, DB5, DB6, and certain V8 models from the 1960s and 1970s.

Aston Martin said the decision to put classic parts back into production sprung out of their continuation program, that “naturally led to the need for new parts, while also generating a full understanding of which parts were immediately available and which had not been manufactured for many years.” This means not only are more continuation models possible, but owners of classic Aston Martins can now more easily finish restorations with parts built to OEM standards.
This is great news for fans of the brand. Aston Martin Works President Paul Spires stated that “The heritage department at gearbox supplier ZF, for instance, was invaluable in helping to recreate original specification gearboxes – making these parts available for the first time since the early 1970’s.”
Customers will have to reach out for pricing and availability on some items, but a number of components can be found on the company’s website.
