Fisker only delivered the first Ocean SUV on Friday, May 5, but it’s already looking ahead at the model’s next move. The startup plans to sell the off-road ready Force E trim later this year.
The model will be based on the Ocean Extreme trim, which offers 550 hp (410 kW/558 PS), and get to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds. The new special edition model’s “20-inch reinforced wheels” and its 33-inch all-terrain tires are likely to slow it down just a little, though.
In exchange, the wheels and the “specialized dampers” will offer drivers “substantial ground clearance and ramp angles,” Fisker promises. Meanwhile, a full-length titanium under body plate will protect its batteries, and front and rear skid plates will also help protect the SUV’s underbelly.

The company adds that the Ocean Force E isn’t just a regular EV with some parts added on. The SUV is being developed by David King. Not only is he the senior vice president of engineering for the automaker, he was a passionate rally driver in the ’80s and the ’90s.
“This vehicle is going to be a beast,” CEO Henrik Fisker said. “We have pulled out all the stops on this one. I think it’s exciting to enter the segment. And for those who love to go off-road and enjoy nature, what better way than with zero emissions?”
Inside, the Ocean Force E will get rubber floor mats, extra grab handles, as well as tie-downs to make sure your things don’t go crashing around when you’re on a trail. To help it act like a true overlander, the lightweight roof rack you can see in the renderings will actually be sold as an optional extra.
It is not yet clear what the model’s driving range will be, but the Ocean Extreme can go up to 400 miles (644 km) per charge on the WLTP test cycle. No price has been mentioned either, but Fisker says that deliveries of the off-roader will commence in the last three months of 2023.
