Ford has been teasing the Mustang GT3 for nearly a year and a half, but the wait is almost over as the car will be unveiled on June 9 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

To celebrate its impending debut, the automaker released a new teaser video showing Joey Hand putting in a few laps at Sebring.

Ford is keeping details under wraps, but the video shows the Mustang GT3 will have a stripped out cabin that is outfitted with a roll cage and two digital displays. We can also see carbon fiber components and what appears to be an adjustable anti-lock braking system. There’s also a race-focused center console as well as a minimalist steering wheel.

When the car was originally announced in January of 2022, Ford Performance confirmed it was being jointly developed with Multimatic. They went on to say it will feature a “5.0-liter Coyote-based V8 engine” that has “performance and packaging modifications to make it championship ready for world class GT3 endurance racing.”

Additional details are limited, but the race car is slated to have a bespoke suspension, a rear-mounted gearbox, and carbon fiber body panels. The model will also be outfitted with a specially developed aerodynamics package that includes a sizable rear wing.

We’ll learn more next month, but Ford has previously said the Mustang GT3 will compete in the 2024 International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) race season, including the 24 Hours of Daytona. The company also stated their will be a “two-car factory-backed IMSA GTD Pro works team managed by Multimatic, as well as customer Mustang race cars for the GTD class starting at Daytona in 2024.”
