A 2022 Lexus LX 600 has been comprehensively modified ahead of the Overland Expo West 2023 in Flagstaff, Arizona and transformed into what event organizers refer to as the ‘Ultimate Overland Vehicle.’ It has been outfitted with components from 25 of the show exhibitors and after the event is over, will be auctioned off through Bring a Trailer with all funds going to the Overland Expo Foundation.
MULE Expedition Outfitters were tasked with the job of modifying the Lexus and opted for the SUV thanks to its GA-F body-on-frame platform, powerful 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged, and its suite of luxury and safety systems. Hitched to the rear of the LX 600 is the Pando 2.0 trailer from Off Grid Trailers that has 24 inches of ground clearance, 8-inches of wheel travel, queen-side sleeping quarters, and even supports air conditioning, a hot water on-demand system, and a shower enclosure. It is also equipped with a rear galley kitchen with a dual-burner cooktop and a pizza oven.
The upgrades made to the LX 600 itself include the installation of an ARM Summit MKII front bumper with a new SOLO Series 12.5 winch. MULE also equipped the Lexus with new LED driving lights before turning its attention to the suspension. Upgrades made include new upper and lower control arms and rear links from Total Chaos as well as new 2.5 Diameter Remote Reservoir shocks and coilovers manufactured by Radflo. These new components boost the ride height by 2.5-inches and allow for the fitment of 17-inch ICON Dynamics wheels and 33-inch Kenda Klever R/T tires.

Further changes include a new Prinsu roof rack holding an Armadillo A2 rooftop tent and a Peregrine 270 awning from 23 ZERO. The Lexus is also rocking a dual swing-out rear bumper with a full-size spare. Goose Gear also provided its Ultimate Chef Package which includes a fridge, tables, chairs, a water faucet, and more.
While the engine itself has been left untouched, MagnaFlow has fitted its Overland Series catback performance exhaust.
“LX nameplate has been a leading brand in the American overlanding market for years. With the all-new LX600, we saw an opportunity to work with our exhibitors to develop world-class overlanding products for the pinnacle full-size 4×4 SUV platform in the U.S.,” senior vice president at Emerald Consumer Events Marketing Linday Hubley said. “Furthermore, off-road trailers have become a significant part of the overland segment. We knew the Ultimate Overland Vehicle wouldn’t be complete without an Off Grid Trailer in tow. The result is a vehicle and trailer combination truly worthy of its ‘ultimate’ moniker.”
