The $2.5 million Essenza SCV12 hypercar is the most extreme car to come out of Lamborghini in recent memory, and probably the most exciting to drive, but it’s track-only status and two-seat layout means owners can’t drive theirs very often.
So Lambo’s Ad Personam personalization team has come up with a special version of the rather more practical Urus Performante to remind those owners of their 819 hp (830 PS) circuit weapon between hot lap sessions. Imaginatively titled the Lamborghini Urus Performante “Essenza SCV12” Limited Edition, the hypercar-inspired SUV is limited to 40 units, and only available to the 40 owners of the real Essenza SCV12.
Buyers can work with the Ad Personam designers to tailor their own unique specification, but the core ingredient is a ton of exposed carbon fiber trim covering the engine hood, roof, sills, mirror caps and taillight panel, all of which customers can opt to have with a glossy or matte finish. Not included as part of the package is a V12 engine, despite what the name suggests.
The carbon pieces contrast with the upper body paint specified to match each of the hypercars, and the separation between light and dark is further underlined by the black finish on the lower section of all four doors, the fronts of which are painted with a number, just like the track car. Completing the connection between the cars is a contrasting color line running over the SUV’s roof.

Lamborghini’s recommended specification includes 23-inch gloss black wheels and matching black calipers, though it admits customers are free to make their own choices because, hey, people with the means to spend multiple millions on a track toy are probably used to getting their own way.
If you were hoping the SCV12 inspiration might have resulted in an F1-style steering wheel, a full set of harnesses and seats that allow less movement than a full body cast, you’re out of luck. But the Urus’s interior is already a great place to spend time (and far more comfortable for daily use) and the mix of carbon and black anodized aluminum trim, Alcantara upholstery, Essenza SCV12 kickplates and a plaque containing the build number and owner’s name help it feel more special than your average Performante.
Under the skin, though, that’s exactly what this car is. It gets the same 656 hp (666 PS) twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and accelerates to 62 mph (100 km/h) in the same 3.3 seconds. Although it’s never going to keep up with a real SCV12, the Performante is no slouch around corners, either: it’s currently the fastest SUV at Pikes Peak, having beaten the previous record holder by 17 seconds.
