Mini is celebrating its motorsport history with the launch of the 2024 Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition. Limited to just 999 units worldwide, the hot hatch will be sold exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.
In creating the limited-edition model, Mini started by making changes to the front end, including the fitment of a new grille with large air intakes and a Piano Black surround. It also features side scuttles and a waistline finished clad in Piano Black, complementing the exterior color of the car that is offered exclusively in Midnight Black.
A silver racing stripe with a particularly intricate design runs across the hood, roof, wing, and tailgate of the car and includes graphics unique to the 1to6 Edition. A set of 18-inch Circuit Spoke wheels in Jet Black complete the look alongside black badges.

Step inside and owners will be welcomed by door sills with a special 1to6 logo. Mini has also equipped the car with black lettering that reads ‘One of 999’ on the left of the steering wheel. A beautifully-finished shifter also catches the eye and is trimmed in leather with red stitching. Further adding to the unique look of the car is a ‘One of 999’ graphic on the sunroof, an instrument cluster with a bright red bezel, an Antracite-colored headliner, red ambient lighting, and a special limited-edition emblem on the lower spoke of the Nappa leather sports steering wheel. Completing the interior changes are new floor mats.
Powering the car is the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as the standard model that is good for 231 hp. The new Mini John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.3 seconds.
“The MINI John Cooper Works models have their roots in motorsport. With the MINI John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition, we are celebrating MINI’s legendary motorsport history and maximizing the brand-typical driving experience,” head of Mini Stefanie Wurst said.
According to a report from Autocar, the ‘1to6’ could be the brand’s last car to offer a manual transmission. The automaker told magazine that it is “99% sure” that future products will not include manual options ,even for their upcoming next-gen internal combustion engine (ICE) models.
