The chief exterior designer for shuttered carmaker National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) has shared a series of new images of the stillborn Emily GT online with one rendering even depicting it as a convertible named the Emily GTO.
The owner of NEVS, Chinese property developer Evergrande, recently announced that the brand had been placed into “hibernation mode” and that 95% of its workforce have been sacked. The Emily GT is the EV that it had hoped to bring to the market and not only does it have an attractive design but the spec sheet also reads very nicely too.
These photos were shared to LinkedIn by Hirash Razaghi who has previously worked as a designer at Volvo Trucks, Hyundai, Lotus, Infiniti, Bugatti, Lynk & Co, and Ford. The image of the Emily in Convertible guise is particularly intriguing.

Whereas the Emily GT EV takes the form of a four-door sedan, the Convertible has just two doors but adopts a similar rear-end design with slim taillights and an LED light bar. It has also been depicted with a unique rear decklid and despite only have two doors, is actually a 2+2 with two small rear seats. The rendering also shows it with a low-slung windshield and a unique set of wheels combining silver and black elements.
It is unclear how far NEVS had progressed with the development of the Emily Convertible but like the sedan, it could have been quite a compelling option for those looking for an advanced and luxurious EV.
NEVS intended on fitting the Emily GT with a massive 175 kWh battery pack that would have given it a driving range of over 621 miles (1,000 km) on a single charge. It was also conceived with a 121 hp electric motor at each wheel resulting in a combined 484 hp in standard guise. A more powerful version with 644 hp and 1,623 lb-ft (2,200 Nm) was also on the cards.
