Dongfeng-Honda has published the first official photos of the new generation of the Inspire sedan which is an alternative proposal to the closely-related GAC-Honda Accord for the Chinese market.
We were already familiar with the styling of the new Honda Inspire thanks to photos that surfaced on the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in February 2023. However, we now get the official gallery showing both the exterior and the interior of the e:PHEV trim.

The Inspire, referred to as the Yingshipai in Chinese, shares most of its components with the latest Accord. While its predecessor presented a more upscale interpretation of the Japanese sedan, the new generation takes on a polarizing design with a significantly larger grille, resembling a Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet. The prominent bumper intakes are unique to the Inspire, but the LED headlights and bonnet are shared with the Accord.
The similarities between the Inspire and the North American version of the Accord extend to their profiles, as they are virtually identical. However, the rear end of the Inspire displays notable distinctions, including slimmer taillights and a redesigned bumper featuring a small diffuser. As a result of these changes, the Inspire measures 4,979 mm (196 inches) in length, which is 9 mm (0.4 inches) longer than the Accord, while the other measurements remain largely unchanged.
Inside the Dongfeng-Honda Inspire, minimal changes have been made in comparison to the Accord, as the layout remains largely unchanged. The notable difference lies in the climate vents, which take on a more conventional design and do not merge with each other as seen in the Accord. Additionally, there are slight variations in trim combinations, including differences in ambient lighting on the dashboard and door cards.
The Inspire featured in the provided picture has e:PHEV badging, indicating that it is the plug-in hybrid variant. While specific details for the Inspire e:PHEV have not been released, it is worth noting that the Accord e:PHEV variant utilizes a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter engine generating 181 hp (135 kW / 183 PS) combined with a single electric motor producing 146 hp (109 kW / 148 PS). Furthermore, similar to the Chinese-spec Accord, the Inspire will also offer a non-electrified turbocharged 1.5-liter engine generating 189 hp (141 kW / 192 PS), paired exclusively with a CVT gearbox that transfers power to the front axle.
The Honda Inspire is anticipated to be launched in the Chinese market in June. The mid-size sedan will be manufactured locally through the joint venture between Dongfeng and Honda.
