Lancia is on the verge of its “Renaissance”, but before the all-new models arrive, the brand announced a new program for certified and guaranteed used vehicles. In order to be eligible, the Lancias need to be no more than 7 years old and have less than 150,000 km (93,206 miles) on the odometer.
Those restrictions mean that Lancia’s “exclusive selection” of used cars will be limited to the immortal Ypsilon since this was the automaker’s sole offering in the aforementioned time bracket with the short-lived Chrysler-derived models being discontinued in 2014.
According to the Italian brand, the used cars will go through 120 dedicated checks by a team of specialists, ensuring they are in top shape and ready for their next owner. Lancia will offer a 24-month warranty covering most spare parts, with unlimited mileage and without excess. Owners won’t have to pay any maintenance costs for the next 15,000 km (9,321 miles) or for the duration of the first year since their purchase. Finally, they will also benefit from the 24/7 European Roadside Assistance in case something goes wrong.

Besides making sure that the used vehicles don’t have any issues, the Lancia Certified program will also add personalized services into the mix. Prospective buyers will be able to check out a 360-degree view of the car in a digital platform, and even arrange a non-obligatory test drive prior to the purchase. More importantly, they will have the option to return the used car within 10 working days after taking delivery, having the option to get their money back or ask for a replacement.
Luca Napolitano, Lancia CEO, said that their goal is to “transform the used car purchase experience into a true brand experience”. The Lancia Certified program has already started in Italy which is currently the only market where the brand is active. However, the program will follow the automaker’s expansion to other markets in the near future, with a dedicated section in all Lancia showrooms.
The Italian brand has confirmed a trio of all-new model launches for the next few years – the next generation of the Ypsilon supermini is coming in 2024, the Gamma electric crossover flagship will follow in 2026, and the Delta electric hatchback in 2028.
