Lamborghini fans look away, as an Aventador came to an ugly end at the hands of a city bus this weekend in London, England. The car suffered serious front-end damage, while the bus has also seen better days.
The circumstances leading to the incident are unclear, but The Sun reports that the crash occurred at around 4:00 a.m. local time on Saturday, April 29. It took until 6:00 a.m. before authorities were ready to tow the Lamborghini away.
The accident happened at the intersection of Margaret Street and Regent Street, near the Oxford Circus Underground Station in London’s famous West End. The historic area is one of the busiest in the city.

The car in question appears to be a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, and the accident was quite violent. Videos of the aftermath of the collision show the lid of the frunk pointing straight up, and much of the front fascia completely destroyed.
The bus, too, suffered some damage, albeit less. Video shows a panel on the side of the public transit vehicle folded in, suggesting that the car actually drove into it. The full extent of the damage to both vehicles is not known at this time. Fortunately, police report that there were no serious injuries as a result of the accident and no arrests were made.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is an extremely powerful car, with a V12 that churns out 759 hp (566 kW/759 PS) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. That was good enough to earn it the lap record at the Nürburgring in 2018.
Prices for the SVJ started at around half a million dollars when it was new, but it isn’t the only expensive vehicle in this accident. When London’s new double-decker buses were introduced in 2012, reports estimated that they each cost around $300,000, making this an eye-wateringly expensive crash.
