Lamborghini is celebrating the launch of the new Revuelto with a series of short films taking us behind the scenes of its flagship supercar. The latest clip highlights the manufacturing process of the electrified model, showing the recently upgraded and highly flexible production line at the Sant’Agata factory.

The Revuelto is the ultimate expression of design and engineering expertise from the Italian brand. It is also the first plug-in hybrid bull with a combined output of 1,001 hp (747 kW / 1,015 PS) from the new 6.5-liter V12 and a trio of electric motors. This explains why the company invested €150 million in the Sant’Agata Bolognese plant, expanding the area by 172,000 square meters and upgrading the machinery in order to host the new family member.

The new production system is called “Manifattura Lamborghini Next Level” and allows a much greater extent of personalization for the Revuelto owners, especially those who will choose the dedicated Ad Personam program.

Ranieri Niccoli, Chief Manufacturing Officer at Automobili Lamborghini, admitted that the Revuelto is a “much more complex product” than its predecessors. However, despite the high-tech robots and machinery, people remain an important part of the manufacturing process with Niccoli describing the supercar as handcrafted.

The production line has 15 stations, and is divided into two stages – the mechanical and the bodywork assemblies. Throughout the 11-minute-long film, Lamborghini employees explain each part of the manufacturing process, with cool footage of Revuelto bits and pieces appearing in the background. We get to see the carbon-fiber monocoque, the new V12 engine, the sharp-looking body panels, and the fully customizable interior upholstery.

Lamborghini states that the new production line is quite flexible and will be able to host additional models in the future. This is made possible largely thanks to the AGV self-driving robots which can transport large components from one place to the other, harmoniously collaborating with skilled workers that undertake less physically demanding tasks.

The first customer deliveries of the Lamborghini Revuelto are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023, just in time for the 60th birthday of the Sant’Agata firm. It remains to be seen if the anniversary year will break another record, surpassing last year’s impressive production run of 9,233 Lamborghini models. Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of the Italian brand, recently revealed that there is already a long waiting list for the Revuelto with enough orders to cover two years of production.
