Skoda launched the Laurin & Klement trim of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe which is distinguished by premium styling touches, a generously equipped cabin, and an updated electric powertrain available in RWD and AWD versions bringing increased power and range figures.

The L&K trim is named after Skoda’s founders Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, representing the pinnacle of premium styling and equipment in the Enyaq’s lineup. Interestingly, Skoda dropped the “iV” lettering from the name of the L&K models which will be the case with all of its future EVs.

Starting with the exterior, the new version-specific bumpers have a heavy dose of Platinum Grey accents around the intakes and on the skid plates. The electric SUV also gets a new set of 20-inch or optional 21-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows, L&K badges on the front fenders, plus chrome on the window frames and roof rails. The illuminated Crystal Face grille and the full-LED lighting units are standard.

Moving inside, the L&K trim comes standard with beige leather, or optional black leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and aluminum pedals. The standard version-specific front seats have ventilating, heating, and massaging functions. The Laurin & Klement badge is proudly exhibited on the multifunction leather steering wheel, the headrests, and the central display.

More importantly, the Enyaq L&K introduces the new Skoda Cl User Interface that will be integrated in all future models. This includes a revised and simplified menu structure, new navigation, plus updated colors and graphics for the infotainment touchscreen, the digital instrument cluster (Virtual Cockpit), and the head-up display. Finally, the Kessy keyless vehicle access system automatically locks the doors when the driver moves away from the vehicle.

Coming With 282 Hp And Up To 354 Miles Of Range

The Enyaq L&K might not be as powerful as the performance-focused dual-motor Enyaq iV RS, but benefits from an improved electric motor that was recently introduced in the VW ID.7 producing 282 hp (210 kW / 285 PS). The rear-wheel-drive Enyaq L&K 85 accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.7 seconds, which is almost two seconds faster than the Enyaq iV 80. There is also an all-wheel-drive Enyaq L&K 85x which has the exact same output but the extra grip allows it to complete the same sprint in 6.6 seconds.

The battery has also been improved with an “optimized” charging curve allowing it to go from 10 to 80% in less than 30 minutes when connected to a fast charger, and a pre-heating function for cold weather. The updated powertrain has a positive effect on the WLTP range of the EV which has been increased to 570 km (354 miles) for the RWD and 550 km (342 miles) for the AWD.

Skoda didn’t announce pricing for the new Enyaq L&K 85 and L&K 85x variants which are nevertheless expected to be more expensive than other trims due to the long list of standard features and the updated powertrain.
