If you were to show photos of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, Porsche 911 Turbo S, and Tesla Model S Plaid to a non-car enthusiast and asked them which is quickest, chances are they’d say the Ferrari, followed by the Porsche and then the Tesla. However, the latest drag racing video put together by CarWow shows that this isn’t the case.
This test consists of three races, including a standing start drag race, a rolling drag race from 40 mph, and two brake tests from 100 mph. Given that the Model S Plaid is driven by three electric motors, it has a power advantage over the other two, churning out a remarkable 1,020 hp and 1,420 Nm of torque.

By comparison, the SF90 Stradale delivers 986 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque from its combination of a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and three small electric motors. It does have the advantage of weighing more than 500 kg less than the Tesla but does have significantly less torque. Then there’s the Porsche. It is rocking a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six with 640 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) and while that puts it at a disadvantage, the 911 Turbo S has a history of outperforming more powerful rivals.
In the first race, the Porsche actually got the best launch off the line, followed by the Ferrari and with the Tesla closely behind. As the speeds started to build, the Ferrari and Tesla began to pull away but it was the Italian supercar that took the victory. Things were different in the final two races. In the second, the Tesla easily out-accelerated the SF90, with the Ferrari even beaten by the 911 Turbo S. The final race is again a competition between the Tesla and the Ferrari but it was the EV that finished first, completing the quarter-mile in 9.7 seconds compared to the 9.9 seconds of the Ferrari.
