Genesis is quietly developing a facelift to the luxurious G80 sedan and while our spy photographers have not yet seen the car in the wild, a heavily-camouflaged prototype was recently filmed up close in a South Korean parking garage.
This particular G80 was nabbed by the Woopa TV channel on YouTube and even though much of its design is hidden, a handful of styling changes are visible. The front end gets a set of revised quad LED headlights that are slightly thinner and less bulky than those of the current G80 and instead more similar to those of the GV80 Coupe Concept.
Beyond the new headlights, it is also apparent that Genesis has revised the lower portion of the front fascia and has also made some alterations to the grille. It also seems that the carmaker has altered the horizontal strips on the front quarter panels. The rear will also be updated with different quad LED taillights and a new bumper.

Given that the current Genesis G80 was only introduced 3 years ago, one could excuse the brand for keeping the interior as it is. However, Woopa TV understands that Genesis may choose to ditch the sleek digital instrument cluster and freestanding infotainment display in favor of a single unit housing the two displays in what is quickly becoming the latest trend in the industry.
Will Genesis make any changes to the engines available with the G80? It’s hard to say with certainty but it’s entirely possible that minor tweaks will be made to the current 2.5-liter and 3.5-liter engines to boost power and perhaps also improve fuel efficiency.
Genesis is expected to launch the facelifted G80 as a 2024 model, meaning we should see it in the flesh before the end of the year, perhaps in September or October.
