The 2024 Toyota Corolla will herald the return of the blacked-out Nightshade Edition trim (which missed 2023) to the model lineup. The special appearance package will be available on the Corolla Sedan, Hatchback, and, for the first time, the Hybrid model, too.

The package brings a distinct darkness to the Corolla lineup and builds on the SE trim. The modifications start with the bronze-finished 18-inch wheels and continue with the gloss-black sport mesh grille and blacked-out Toyota badges.

The side mirrors and rear badges are also finished in black, as are the shark fin antenna, the lower diffuser, and the Vented Sport Wing. The back end also gets a new rear lip spoiler to help lend the Corolla a sporty appeal.

2024 Toyota Corolla Brings Back Nightshade Edition Adding A Bolder Touch To Lineup

Available in just a handful of color schemes, buyers can opt to have their Corolla Nightshade Edition finished in Midnight Black Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, or Ice Cap. Meanwhile, those who opt for the hatchback get two-tone color combinations, that include Windchill Pearl with a black roof, Classic Silver with a black roof, or solid Midnight Black Metallic.

Regardless of body style, the model will get sport seats with fabric inserts, a 4.2-inch instrument display, an eight-inch touchscreen display, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as standard. Buyers can also opt to upgrade their sound system with the JBL Audio package. The Nightshade Package can also be added to the SE Premium trim, which adds a power moonroof, Qi wireless device charging, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert.

As with other models in the lineup, the Corolla Hybrid is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and two motor generators that help it achieve 47 mpg (5.0 L/100 km). Meanwhile, the hatchback and sedan models are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 169 hp (126 kW/171 PS).

Toyota isn’t quite ready to share pricing for the 2024 Corolla lineup, so it’s not yet clear how much the Nightshade Edition will cost. The model is expected to make it to Toyota dealerships this fall, though.
