Nobody looks forward to Monday, but Acura fans might want to circle June 19 as that’s when the highly anticipated Integra Type S lands at U.S. dealers.

Of course, if you didn’t act early, you might have a hard time getting your hands on one as pre-orders opened on May 11. It remains unclear how many people secured their spot in line, but the Integra Type S is a questionable value as pricing starts at $50,800 before a $1,195 destination fee.

For comparison, the similar Honda Civic Type R starts at $43,795 and has a lower destination charge of $1,095. The model also costs $6,060 more than the Volkswagen Golf R, while you can get the TLX Type S for an extra $4,950. It’s also worth noting you can get a more powerful 2024 Cadillac CT4-V for $47,095 and that model has the option of all-wheel drive.

Since we’ve already covered pricing and equipment, we’ll do a quick recap here and note the Integra Type S features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder developing 320 hp (239 kW / 324 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. That’s slightly more than the Civic Type R and the engine is connected to a six-speed manual that has an automatic rev-matching function. The model also sports a limited-slip differential and an adaptive damper system.

The liftback has been given a sporty makeover as buyers will find a new front fascia with a larger grille and more aggressive intakes. They’re joined by a ventilated aluminum hood, widened fenders, and LED lighting units. Other highlights include a black diffuser, a center-mounted triple exhaust, and 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

The cabin comes nicely equipped with 12-way power, heated front sport seats with Ultrasuede inserts and Type S logos on the headrests. Buyers will also find a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch infotainment system, a head-up display, a wireless smartphone charger, and a 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D audio system.

While there’s been a lot of discussion about the lofty price tag, Acura has high hopes for the model and noted it’s the fourth Type S to be launched in the past two years.
