Chevrolet only just announced the 2024 MY lineup of the Camaro, which includes the Collector’s Edition send-off, but the automaker has another ace up its sleeve before the sixth generation of the muscle car enters retirement. The 2024 Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition will be produced in a limited number of 56 units, as a tribute to the NASCAR racecar that will compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The special edition was previewed in a series of renderings during the “Meet the Team” event at Le Mans. Designed by Chevrolet’s Performance Design Studio, this ZL1-based model incorporates various elements inspired by the racecar competing in the event.
The Garage 56 Edition features an upgraded aero package, prominently displaying the aggressive front end design from the Camaro ZL1 1LE, while at the rear, it is equipped with a “wicker bill” spoiler. It also comes with alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar tires. Exclusively available in the Riptide Blue exterior color, it sports satin mirrors and a black fuel cap with carbon-fiber inserts.

More importantly, the graphic package is reminiscent of the racecar livery. It includes gold and white stripes, monochromatic stars, and the NASCAR 75th anniversary logo on the bonnet. Those are joined by the Garage 56 emblem on the front fenders, and a Hendrick Motorsports logo on the C-pillars honoring the teams involved with the racecar’s development.
Optionally, buyers can get three additional graphics – a NASCAR windshield header, Goodyear decals on the front wheel arches, and the number 24 on the doors. Inside, there is Garage 56 branding on the floormats and steering wheel.
There are no modifications under the hood, where we find the ZL1’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 LT4. The small block V8 is good for 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque.
The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition will be available later this year, with the 56 units set to be produced at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly facility in Michigan. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
The NASCAR Cup Camaro ZL1 serves as the inspiration for the Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition. This racecar is the product of a collaborative effort between NASCAR, Hendrick Motorsports, Chevrolet, Goodyear, and IMSA. Powered by a V8 engine, the NASCAR racecar will participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans event this weekend. It will be driven by seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, Formula 1 champion Jenson Button, and multiple-time Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller.
