Brands often create buzz before new model launches by teasing designs and revealing features, but Fiat is taking a different approach. In a surprising move, the Italian brand discreetly included footage of the exterior and interior of the upcoming Fiat 600e in a release about a Vatican event, intentionally keeping them hidden from the spotlight.
The Fiat 600e was inadvertently revealed in early May when it was spotted undisguised during the shooting of press footage. The subsequent official video provides an even more comprehensive look at the vehicle, showcasing its exterior from various angles and offering glimpses of the interior. As expected, the small SUV embraces the distinctive styling cues of the 500 family while introducing new elements such as the “eyelashes.”
Inside, the dashboard features a clean and minimalist design, highlighted by a round-shaped digital instrument cluster and a prominent freestanding infotainment display.

Despite the “600” emblems on the body, the small SUV from Fiat is officially named the 600e. This naming convention aligns with the Fiat 500e hatchback, emphasizing its fully electric powertrain. It’s important to clarify that the Fiat 600e is not intended to replace the slightly larger 500X model. Rumors suggest that the 500X may transition to the compact segment in its next generation, indicating separate positioning within Fiat’s vehicle lineup.
Fiat has remained tight-lipped about the specific technical details of the upcoming 600e B-SUV. However, industry speculation suggests that the vehicle will share its platform with the Jeep Avenger and other similarly-sized models within the Stellantis group. It is anticipated that the Fiat 600e will feature a single electric motor generating around 154 horsepower (115 kW/156 PS) and 260 Nm (191.8 lb-ft) of torque. Power will likely be supplied by a 54 kWh battery pack, providing the necessary energy for the electric drivetrain.
Additionally, reports suggest that the 600, like its Jeep Avenger cousin, will be available with a gasoline engine option in select markets, including Italy. This variant is expected to be equipped with a 100 hp three-cylinder 1.2 turbo petrol engine, mated to a manual gearbox.

Fiat’s short film “Open Doors” aims to convey messages of “human brotherhood, openness, and inclusion.” The video was created for the World Meeting on Human Fraternity “Not Alone”, held on June 10 at St. Peter’s Square, and organized by the Vatican Foundation “Fratelli Tutti”. Fiat sponsored the Meeting, offering an all-electric fleet of vehicles including the 500e and zero-emission variants of its LCV-based minivans. The 600e wasn’t part of the fleet, as the model hasn’t even debuted yet.
While Fiat has not yet provided an official debut date for the 600e, we’ve heard that it could debut on July 4 to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the 500. Whether the 600e will be available in markets outside of Europe, particularly in the United States, remains uncertain. It’s worth noting that the 500e is set to be introduced in the US in 2024, so there is a possibility that Fiat may consider expanding the availability of the 600e in the future.
