It can be hard to keep your cool during an exam, especially one that feels as high pressure as a driving test. But one woman in Argentina learned the hard way how quickly things can go from bad to worse after failing her test in spectacular fashion.
In CCTV footage shared online, video of what appears to be a Volkswagen Gol driving around a small test center can be seen. The miniature section of road has pedestrian crossings, traffic lights, a roundabout, and other stuff you’d expect to find driving around public roads.
Her test starts going badly pretty quickly after the video begins, as she hits the outside curb while turning right around a corner. Her reaction is a cause for immediate concern, as the car appears to accelerate, and the two outside wheels wind up on the curb.

That’s a pretty bad error to commit on a driving test, and one that would immediately make me fear failing the test. However, things are only going to get worse for the woman, and everyone involved in this incident.
After returning all four wheels to the road, the driver turns on her hazard lights and slows, but doesn’t stop for a stop sign. She then washes wide on another right-hander, mounting yet another curb.
This time, she appears to really panic, and presumably hits the gas pedal instead of the brake. At this point, we should remember that the driver is likely panicking as a result of the previous errors, and that pedal confusion is a common and dangerous problem.
Indeed, even in this test center, designed to be a safe place for new drivers, the pedal error leads the driver to launch her VW over another curb and into a light pole. The violence of the accident is such that the pole is felled, and the car flipped onto its side.
The BBC reports that the driver was 63-years-old and that she suffered minor injuries in the accident. She was taken to hospital for treatment. No other injuries are reported.
