Many motorcycles have a huge advantage when it comes to running from cars that pursue them. In the case of one rider in Arkansas, none of the advantages he had saved him from the long arm of the law. Instead, he ended up being tapped by a police car into a bush before heading off to jail.

Official details on the interaction are sparse but the video below shows us the chase from start to finish. Officer Dakotah Bailey, a veteran of the Arkansas State Police, begins pursuit of a motorcycle rider south of Little Rock at speeds well above the posted limit.

Almost immediately, the rider wraps on the throttle of his sport bike. The brand and model are indistinguishable due to the video quality and angles. Nevertheless, many riders in this situation would slowly but surely ride off into the horizon never to be seen again. That’s not what happened on June 6th, 2023.

The rider does get quite a bit of distance on Officer Bailey but it doesn’t last. Instead, Bailey in his Chevrolet Tahoe police car reels in the rider by traveling at speeds of up to 134 mph (216 km/h) for quite some time. Then, the rider takes exit 9 on Arkansas Highway 530 and seems to signal as though he’s about to pull over or end the chase.

Bailey rolls up and seems to pass the rider for a brief moment before he comes around the passenger side of the SUV. Bailey doesn’t allow the chase to continue any further as he lightly taps the motorcycle and the rider loses control. After a brief attempt at righting the bike, the rider falls off, lays down the bike, and ends up in a bush.

“You let a damn Tahoe chase you down,” says Officer Bailey mockingly after securing the suspect. There are a whole lot of ways this could’ve ended up but running from the Arkansas State Police typically doesn’t go well for those who try.
