It has been well documented that China is a major market for EVs and Buicks, so it should not come as a surprise that the GM brand has already unveiled two brand-new all-electric crossovers in the market. The second, the Electra E4, was revealed today boasting a sleek design and a luxurious interior.
Buick calls the exterior of the Electra E4 “premium and sporty,” and the influences of the Electra-X concept can clearly be seen throughout. Like the Electra E5, it has slim “checkmark” headlights, a large lower grille section, and a sharp nose.
However, towards the back, it starts to really differentiate itself from its larger sibling. The Electra E4 has a more sloping roofline that contributes to a “sporty” crossover coupe look. Better still, the new EV will have a coefficient of drag of 0.287, at least according to China’s Autohome. That should help it slice through the air more efficiently, and use less of its battery power.

Unfortunately, the driving range remains a mystery for the Electra E4, but we know that it will be equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, which aren’t quite as energy-dense as lithium-ion batteries.
However, thanks to disclosures from the Chinese government published in January, we know that the Electra E4 will be powered by a 241 hp (180 kW/245 PS) electric motor, with a dual-motor version expected to be added later in the lineup.
No matter how powerful the EV is, drivers will be surrounded by a sleek, modern interior, and bathed in plenty of natural light, thanks to the 13-square-foot (1.2 square meters) glass canopy. Buick has used low-radiation glass to provide occupants with segment-leading UV protection.
Tech will come in the form of an eye-catching 30-inch curved screen that incorporates both the infotainment screen and the driver display. It has a 6K resolution and is powered by a Snapdragon 8155 chip for lightning-fast response times.
Occupants will also benefit from wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and 121-color ambient lighting. A voice assistant can also help drivers complete tasks without taking their eyes off the road.
It’s not yet clear when sales of the Electra E4 are set to begin, but reports suggest that it will carry a price of 200,000-300,000 yuan ($28,000 – $42,000 USD at current exchange rates).
