Fast X is still in theaters, but that hasn’t stopped Vin Diesel from announcing the next main installment will arrive on April 4, 2025.

While that’s nearly two years away, Diesel noted Fast X was always envisioned to be a two-part movie and the second-half is “going to be an effort from our Fast family and studio like you have never seen.”

That isn’t much to go on, but the film will pick up where Fast X left off. If you haven’t seen it and are invested in the franchise, you should stop reading here.

Great, you either saw Fast X or stopped caring after the first few films. Regardless, the movie saw Dominic Toretto square off against Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) and it didn’t go well for him as his family suffered heavy losses. Even Dom’s fate is left up in the air, although the odds of him being dead are about as good as Fast X winning an Oscar for best picture.

More notably, there was a mid-credits scene teasing the return of Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson). It’s the first time we’ve seen him since Hobbs & Shaw as there was reportedly bad blood between Diesel and Johnson.

Johnson has already confirmed his return as he took to social media earlier this month to say, “Your reactions … to Hobbs’ return in Fast X have blown us away.” He added, “The next Fast & Furious film you’ll see the legendary lawman in will be the HOBBS movie that will serve as a fresh, new chapter & set up for FAST X: Part II.” As a result, it should arrive in 2024 and be followed by the second part of Fast X in 2025.
