Normally, when an automaker partners with a fashion brand, they come together to create something inoffensive and safe enough to be worn by non-fashionistas, while also shoehorning their logo into an article of clothing. Koenigsegg is not a normal car company, though.
The Swedish automaker has collaborated with its compatriots, Chimi, to create a pair of sunglasses and a jacket that use the same materials as the cars that Koenigsegg produces. And they really went for it. The most eye-catching (and likely blinding, depending on weather conditions) is the FORCA-G racing jacket.
As you can plainly see, it’s made out of metal. However, despite its 60 percent metal alloy fiber shell, Chimi claims that it is breathable, as well as wind and water-repellent—though it remains unclear if you have to worry about rust. The lining is finished with Koenigsegg’s signature pattern and, in a nice nod to the brand, the ghost logo is used for the zipper pull.

Chimi has really taken advantage of the material, though. In addition to the 3D titanium embroidery on the arm, the jacket also comes with a sunglasses’ case that attaches to the jacket using neodymium magnets.
That case will be perfect for the second piece in the collection, the FORCA-G sunglasses, which are crafted out of lightweight titanium, feature sharp “curvation for an aerodynamic fit,” and have mineral lenses for extreme precision and clarity, as well as scratch resistance.
You have to respect Chimi’s commitment to the design remit. It really went all in on the fact that Koenigsegg operates like the supercar company owned by a mad scientist whose hobbies include harebrained schemes for world domination.
“Koenigsegg’s philosophy has always been to imbue extreme performance with elegance, and that has been brought to life completely in the FORCA-G collection,” said Christian von Koenigsegg, the automaker’s founder chief mad science officer. “Chimi’s gifted team, with whom we have loved collaborating, has masterfully captured the thrill and grace of racing in the craftsmanship of these items. FORCA-G is a fitting tribute to and reflection of both racing culture and of design-led innovation.”
The sunglasses cost £450 ($574 USD at current exchange rates) and come in either silver or black. Meanwhile, the jacket is only offered in metallic silver, and costs £1,350 ($1,723 USD).
