The all-new sixth generation of the Mitsubishi Triton/L200 appeared in a series of new and revealing teasers showing both the exterior and the interior. The new model is set to premiere in Thailand on July 26 and will compete with the likes of the Ford Ranger and the Toyota Hilux in the midsize pickup segment.
Mitsubishi has already previewed the Triton with the XRT concept that debuted in March, but the new teasers give away more details about the production model. According to the designers, the styling of the midsize pickup was created under the concept of “Beast Mode”, with the goal of expressing the “toughness and powerfulness expected of a pickup truck”.

At the front, the highlight is the split LED headlights and the boxy chrome-infused grille representing an evolved version of Mitsubishi‘s Dynamic Shield styling language. On the profile, we can see the toned-up fenders, the protruding bumpers, and the Nissan Navara-derived greenhouse. Finally, the rear end has larger LED taillights and a more sculpted tailgate.
The teaser videos also show bits of the interior, focused on the dashboard. The footage reveals a free-standing infotainment touchscreen which appears to be shared with the Mitsubishi Outlander, a rotary dial for the 4WD system, a Drive Mode selector, and aircraft-style switches on the center console below the climate controls.
Mitsubishi has been coy on details about the technical specifications, but the sixth-gen model is expected to share its ladder-frame underpinnings with the Nissan Navara and come fitted with a turbodiesel powertrain. Note that Mitsubishi has also teased a fully electric pickup for its future range, although this one appears to be a different model rather than an EV variant of the Triton.
Just like its predecessor, the new Mitsubishi Triton will be produced in Thailand and is set to be exported to various markets around the world including the ASEAN region, Oceania, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
We will learn more about the new Mitsubishi Triton/L200 in the coming weeks as the automaker will likely continue the teasing campaign. Until then, check out the official videos showing camouflaged prototypes during off-road development testing.
