Art cars have become passé as some of them are little more than a custom wrap. However, that doesn’t mean art and cars can’t collide in spectacular fashion.

That’s clear today as Porsche attended the Aranya Theatre Festival in China and had a couple of noteworthy exhibits. One of the most eye-catching is the Dream On and Dream Capsule piece, which is a new take on the classic ‘message in a bottle.’

In this case, the bottle houses a Taycan as well as a message saying “Those lucky enough to build a business out of a dream owe it to the world to be the caretakers of dreams.” The automaker says the “Taycan wrapped within the scroll illustrates how Porsche interprets the sports car dream of Ferry Porsche in a completely different and modern way.”

The Taycan was also featured in Chris Labrooy’s Dream in Motion. It depicts the electric vehicle racing down the beach and kicking up sand. However, the car is stationary and the ‘dust cloud’ consists of colorful shapes that transports “viewers into a world of fantasy.”

The real highlight was Benedict Radcliffe’s Dream Bold, which looks amazing at night. As you can see, it’s a tubular reinterpretation of the 934 race car from the 1970’s. The automaker noted the “minimalist lines of his piece are said to represent a visual landscape of great tension which stimulates a strong resonance for dreams within people.”
