Volkswagen sneaked a new teaser of the upcoming Scout-branded EVs in its Capital Markets Day presentation, and the internet took notice. The image has low resolution but reveals more styling features of the mechanically-related SUV and pickup models.
We were already familiar with the boxy silhouette of the EVs from earlier teasers, but we now get to see the front end of the pickup which will most likely be shared with its SUV brother. The off-roaders feature a fair bit of plastic cladding on the bumpers and around the wheel arches, while the LED headlights appear to merge with the illuminated grille.
The fairly large greenhouse has a wraparound treatment, with black pillars and a floating roof effect. Furthermore, both models appear to have a large glass roof. Overall, the styling language sends Land Rover Defender and Ford Bronco vibes, with minimalist surfacing and traditional off-road proportions.

The 2023 Volkswagen’s Capital Markets Day took place on June 21 at the Hockenheimring, but it wasn’t before yesterday that a user of the Scout EV Forum called Golfguy noticed the teaser on page 12. This is where VW Group listed its top 10 priority programs, with the Scout brand occupying number 4.
Scout Motors will build the SUV and pickup on a brand new $2 billion manufacturing facility located outside Columbia in South Carolina, US, with an expected capacity of more than 200,000 vehicles per year. Production will commence before the end of 2026, although VW will probably show us the models a lot earlier than that.
