The new Aston Martin DB12 may not have a V12 engine like its predecessor but it still promises to be a heck of a performance machine that looks just as good as the DB11 but is more dynamic than ever before.
Shortly after the car was presented to the world, Aston Martin has released a comprehensive online configurator for the grand tourer, giving us the opportunity to see what it looks like in a host of different configurations. The first option is the paint of which the configurator includes dozens of options. We have opted for Storm Purple but there are plenty of other bright colors to choose from, as well as plenty of blacks, greys, silvers, and whites.
With the color selected, you can choose to have the splitter and side skirts finished in gloss black, carbon fiber, or body-colored. We went with carbon fiber and paired it with the carbon fiber upper package. Aston Martin also offers the DB12’s front grille with either a gloss or a dark finish. A handful of different wheels are offered and we happen to think that the 21-inch Y-spoke wheels with a Satin Bronze finish complement the Storm Purple paint nicely. The yellow-painted brake calipers are also a nice touch. There is also an option to have smoked taillights.

Plenty of options are also available for the interior of the DB12. These include the choice between two different seats and the option of various monotone or duotone finishes. One of our favorites is called Bitter Chocolate and is a dark shade of brown.
Regardless of what configuration shoppers opt for, all DB12 models are powered by a Mercedes AMG-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that pumps out 671 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, significant gains over the DB11 that was rated at 630 hp and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) with its flagship 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12.
