Visitors of the Subiefest event in California got an early look at the 2024 Subaru BRZ tS, a new trim of the sportscar featuring a more focused chassis setup that will formally debut today, July 24. The automaker has yet to publish official photos of the BRZ tS, but footage recorded by Subaru fans at the event is all over the internet showing everything we need to know.
The only visual changes compared to lesser trims are the tS badging on the grille and the tailgate, the gold-painted brake calipers, and the red BRZ lettering on the covers of the headlights which appeared in the official teaser. This is a letdown for those that expected a more aggressive aerodynamics package, or more parts from the STI catalog as was the case with its predecessor.

According to Reddit user PlatinumElement who attended the event and published a set of photos, the tS will come equipped with new Hitachi dampers and Brembo brakes. Another user called Ramomaster said that the aluminum suspension knuckles of the stock BRZ will be replaced by cast iron ones. The sharper handling of the sportscar was exhibited in a test run with racing driver Scott Speed behind the wheel. There is no mention of any upgrades for the 2.4-liter boxer engine which produces 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque in the US-spec BRZ.
Another highlight is the addition of the EyeSight ADAS package – including Adaptive Cruise Control. This change was recently announced for the upcoming JDM-spec manual BRZ which will soon receive a number of updates.
Unlike the first-gen BRZ tS which was produced in limited numbers, the second-gen tS will be a regular trim available in all production colors in the US, at least according to reports from Subiefest attendees. We expect to learn more about the 2024 Subaru BRZ tS in a few hours so stay tuned. Until then, you can watch the videos below.
