When leaving your car in a parking lot overnight (or multiple nights), you always run the risk of something happening to it. As posted to Reddit, one Acura driver in San Francisco found that out the hard way, but it wasn’t just some old TSX that got its door dinged. Instead, it was an NSX Type S that got its wheels stolen at the airport parking lot.
Tire Meets Road reports that rims for a “normal” NSX can go for as much as $2,300 per wheel, so a full set for a Type S could potentially cost as much as $8,000-$10,000. While that may not be as expensive as something like the Corvette Z06’s carbon fiber wheel option, it’s still a lot of money. Regardless of their value, the wheels just shouldn’t have been stolen in the first place.

To make matters worse, not only did the thieves leave the car on bricks, but those bricks weren’t on the jack points, which caused some substantial damage to the rocker panels. On top of that, because they only used one stack of bricks on each side, the car tipped backward, likely causing damage to the rear bumper as well.
It’s not like fixing this or sourcing new wheels will be easy, either. With only 350 Type Ss for the entire world, Acura‘s swan song for the NSX is nearly four times rarer than the legendary Ferrari F40, meaning parts are certainly hard to come by.
