The Cadillac Celestiq is slated to go into production later this year and the company is giving us a better look at the ultra-luxury vehicle.
Over the past two weeks, the automaker has released a series of videos highlighting the flagship as well as its distinctive design. The first is called “Birth of an Icon” and it focuses on the development of the Celestiq, while noting the company needed something “provocative” to usher in the electric era. The video then highlights exclusivity by touching on the extensive customization that could result in no two models being alike.

The latter is echoed in Bespoke Individualism, which focuses on the handcraftsmanship that separates the Celestiq from more mainstream models such as the Lyriq. While the cabin of the electric crossover is impressive, it pales in comparison to the flagship which sports an ultra-luxury interior that draws inspiration from fashion and furniture design. The video doesn’t go into many specifics, but notes the car has leather tanned using coffee bean shells as well as stamped stainless steel speaker grilles.
The other clips hint at the Ultra Cruise semi-autonomous driving system and discuss the design in more detail. The latest video also talks about the Celestiq’s use of illumination, which extends far beyond traditional head- and taillights.
As a refresher, the Celestiq features a 111 kWh battery that powers a dual-motor all-wheel drive system developing an estimated 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) and 640 lb-ft (867 Nm) of torque. This will enable the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and travel approximately 300 miles (483 km) on a single charge.
Other highlights include 23-inch wheels, a 55-inch dashboard display, and an 11-inch front command center. Rear seat passengers will find an 8-inch command center as well as a rear seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch displays.
That’s just the tip of the ultra-luxury iceberg as the Celestiq has a 38-speaker AKG audio system, heated and ventilated seats, heated armrests, and a Mercedes-like “neck scarf” system. The $300,000+ flagship also has a smart glass roof that is divided into four zones and uses suspended particle device technology to adjust the amount of light that is let into the cabin.
