The Ford Ranger Raptor is the flagship edition of the midsize pickup and one of the most capable in its segment, but tuners are here to further spice up its looks. The CRX T-Rex by Carlex Design is the latest tuned Raptor which is focused on exterior and interior modifications instead of mechanical upgrades.

Starting with the visuals, the highlight is the Line-X finish applied on the bumpers, bonnet scoop, skid plates, front grille, fenders, side steps, mirror caps, and rear bed. This not only accentuates the rugged appearance of the truck but also protects those components from scratches and dents while off-roading.

Furthermore, the wheel arches got plastic extensions, while the side steps, front skid plate, and the StyleBar on the bed come from an aftermarket company called Pickup Design. The orange accents are combined with orange decals around the headlights and taillights, orange T-Rex emblems and black graphics on the sides against the white-painted bodywork.

The T-Rex version of the Raptor rides on a new set of five-spoke 18-inch Pickup Design alloy wheels finished in black, with contrasting orange brake calipers. Finally, the roof-mounted LEDs at the front and at the back can turn night into day in areas without proper illumination, making the truck look like an expedition vehicle.

In typical Carlex flavor, the interior is even more striking when it comes to color. Almost the entire cabin is upholstered in orange leather and Alcantara, including the dashboard, steering wheel, door cards, bucket seats, and roof. The tuner’s signature can be found on the passenger’s side of the dash and on the headrests, alongside T-Rex branding.

The underpinnings are left untouched which means that the stock twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost engine produces 284 hp (212 kW / 288 PS) in Europe, 392 hp (292 kW / 397 PS) in Australia, or up to 405 hp (302 kW / 411 PS) in the US. In any case, all Ranger Raptors get version-specific suspension with 2.5-inch Fox Live Valve shocks, various drive modes, and an active valve exhaust right from the factory.

Carlex Design said that the CRX T-Rex Pickup is a limited edition, although they didn’t specify the number of units they are willing to produce. The cost of the modified truck is €99,900 ($110,739), representing a significant increase over the €70,025 ($77,597) which is the base price of the Ford Ranger Raptor in Germany. In the US, the model is much cheaper starting at $56,960, while if you are willing to offer $81,910 you get a Hennessey VelociRaptor with 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS).
