Few would argue that the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is one of the finest mid-engined supercars currently on sale but do these aftermarket wheels suit it? We’re not so sure.
This particular Corvette Z06 is finished in Hypersonic Gray Metallic, a color that was introduced for the 2022 model year. We think it looks great and ensures that some of the more aggressive shapes, lines, and creases really stand out, in particular the character lines along the doors, the bulging arches, and that shapely rear-end.
The Chevy also rocks a set of bright yellow brake calipers that immediately catch the eye and has been equipped with a large aftermarket Carbon Aero rear wing. Then we have the wheels.

Manufactured by Strasse, they are known as the S5-RS Ultralight Carbon Series wheels and sport Satin Black centers, 50/50 Gloss Black hardware, and carbon fiber center caps. They have a staggered setup measuring 20×10 at the front and 21×13 at the rear while wrapped in sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. They look cool but we do prefer the wheels that the Z06 is available from the factory with.
Of course, no Corvette Z06 can be defined by its wheels, especially not the C8-generation model. Lauded by some as the finest Corvette ever created, the new Z06 has proven itself to be a serious rival to the very finest European supercars.
Key to the car’s appeal is its 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that churns out an impressive 670 hp at 8,400 rpm and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque at 6,300 rpm. This engine features a flat-plane crank and is the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 to ever power a production car. Coupled to this engine is an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power through the rear wheels.
