Ford is getting ready to unveil an updated version of the F-150 at the Detroit Auto Show, which is scheduled to run between September 13 and 24 this year.
The news was shared by Ford CEO, Jim Farley, during an analyst call for the second-quarter earnings last Thursday. Farley said they will unveil an “all-new F-150 pickup” alongside a new “hybrid variant” in Detroit. This marks three years after the launch event of the current 14th generation Ford F-150 in 2020 for the 2021 MY.

Prototypes of the facelifted 2024 Ford F-150 in Lariat, Platinum, and Raptor trims, have been recently spotted driving under broad sunlight on the streets of Detroit without any camouflage on. Visual changes will be focused on the redesigned headlights and grille, plus the new LED taillight graphics. We also expect an updated infotainment system and new trim options inside the cabin. It is not clear if Ford plans to facelift the fully electric F-150 Lightning which entered production in 2022.
As reported by Automotive News, besides the forthcoming mid-lifecycle update for the 2024 Ford F-150 the automaker is already working on the next generation of the popular truck which is set to debut in 2026. There is limited information about it at the time of writing although we expect a greater focus on electrification and a further evolved styling language.
According to organizers, the premiere of the 2024 Ford F-150 family will be one of the six new product launches from Detroit’s Big Three at this year’s show.
