Lamborghini will officially reveal its entry into the Le Mans Hypercar class of racing on July 13. The car will go to battle against competitors from Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Toyota, and more.
The as-yet-unnamed racecar will be presented to the public for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month. It will compete in the 2024 season of the World Endurance Championship and in the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Endurance Cup. It will race for victory at legendary events like the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 24 Hours of Daytona, and, of course, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Few details have emerged about the car, but a teaser image bathed in shadows shows that it will have the same Y-shaped LED lighting elements as its road car siblings. Like Lamborghini’s most recently unveiled model, the Revuelto, it will also be a hybrid, as the racing class’s regulations dictate.

Power levels in the Hypercar/GTP classes are restricted to 500 kW (670 hp/680 PS) in 2023, though automakers do have some freedom when it came to how many cylinders their engine has. Porsche opted for eight, while Acura chose six, so it will be interesting to see if Lamborghini chooses to go for a V12, like its newest road car, the Revuelto, or if it will opt for a smaller engine that could preview a future vehicle’s hybrid powertrain.
Lamborghini says that its longtime racing partner Iron Lynx will be involved in the project. At Goodwood, the new racecar will be unveiled at Ristorante 1963, a name that celebrates Italian automaker’s founding year. In addition to the racecar, its new Revuelto and the Huracán Sterrato will also be on display, and will race up the Goodwood Hillclimb.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from Thursday, July 13, to Sunday, July 16, 2023.
