Mahindra will unveil its vision of a “Global Pik Up” on August 15 in Cape Town, South Africa alongside other ambitious projects. The new truck, reportedly based on the Scorpio N platform, will likely result in a production model, capitalizing on the sales success of the ladder-frame SUV.
According to Indian media, the concept is codenamed Z121 and is expected to share the underpinnings with the Mahindra Scorpio N, albeit with a longer wheelbase. The stretched footprint will allow a larger rear bed, which is occupied by full-size spare wheels shod in grippy all-terrain rubber.

Besides the wheels, the cryptic teaser shows the grille incorporating the new Mahindra emblem, the side steps, and a portion of the LED taillights. In a short blurry clip, we can see the truck driving away on the desert, looking similar to the VW Amarok. It is not clear if the concept will share the front portion of the bodywork with the Mahindra Scorpio N or if the automaker opts for a distinct look.
Autocar India reports that the production version of the concept is expected in early 2025 in various markets including South Africa, India, and Australia, as the successor of the old Scorpio Classic/Getaway trims. Chances are that Mahindra will offer it in single-cab, double-cab, and cab-chassis variants, covering the needs of a wider audience.
Powertrain options will most likely be carried over from the SUV, including the 2.0-liter TGDi mStallion petrol with 197 hp (149 kW / 200 PS) and the 2.2-liter mHawk diesel with 173 hp (129 kW / 175 PS). In the Scorpio N, both engines can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, with standard rear-wheel-drive and optional all-wheel-drive.
