If you were to watch a Fast and Furious film without much knowledge about cars or driving, you could be fooled into thinking that drifting and power sliding a powerful, rear-wheel drive sports car is as easy in real life as it appears on the big screen. In reality, it is something that requires practice and the owner of this Ford Mustang clearly needs a lot more of it.
We stumbled upon this video on what can only be described as a mecca of Ford Mustang crashes, Reddit. The crash clearly occurred somewhere in the U.S. but we’re not entirely sure where. Nevertheless, it shows just how quickly things can go wrong if you try to kick out the tail to a Mustang without the necessary skill to control a slide.

The driver of the beat-up Mustang can initially be seen swerving side-to-side in an attempt to leave some black lines on the road. However, when the tail of the Mustang kicks out to the right, the driver is unable to countersteer fast enough and loses control of the car. It then proceeds to slam directly into a telephone pole on the side of the road.
It’s entirely possible that the owner of the car has found themselves in a similar position in the past as the body of the Mustang already had quite a lot of damage. Additionally, it was completely lacking a front bumper at the time it slammed into the telephone pole. We suspect the passenger also got the fright of his life as he can be seen hanging out of the side window during the attempted powerslide and is flung towards the car’s A-pillar in the crash.
