Polestar has just reported its best-ever second quarter, confirming that its deliveries jumped an impressive 36% compared to Q2 2022 and putting the automaker on track to deliver between 60,000 and 70,000 vehicles by the end of the year.

In the April-June period, Polestar delivered approximately 15,800 vehicles. June proved to be a particularly successful month for the company with deliveries increasing 73% year-on-year. In the first half of the year, Polestar delivered approximately 27,900 vehicles to customers around the world.

“As expected, deliveries have continued to gather pace from month to month, resulting in a record second quarter. I’m confident this trend will continue into the seasonally stronger second half of the year, which will also see the first deliveries of our significantly upgraded Polestar 2, with up to 22% longer range,” Polestar chief executive Thomas Ingenlath said. “More than 20 permanent Polestar Spaces are planned to open over the coming months, as we expand our footprint and shift from temporary locations into larger facilities that can accommodate our growing line-up. I’m really pleased that the first Polestar 3 display cars will be arriving in our Spaces in the coming weeks.”

Polestar Reports 36% Jump In Q2 Sales, Aiming For 60,000-70,000 Deliveries This Year

Polestar managed to deliver 51,500 EVs in 2022 and after a strong Q4 last year, asserted that it would be able to deliver 80,000 vehicles in 2023. Evidently, it has now lowered this goal to the 60,000-70,000 mark, and achieving even the lower of those two figures will require a very successful second half of the year.

The car manufacturer will publish its financial results for the second quarter before the market opens on August 31.

Not only should the updated Polestar 2 help to boost Polestar’s deliveries, but starting in 2024, the launch of the luxurious Polestar 3 SUV should also prove to be a key contributor to the brand’s sales. It will then be followed up by the sleek Polestar 4.
